Much more is possible than most people know. In fact, much more is possible than anyone knows. Muhammad Ali said:
Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.
What’s possible?
Theoretically, tons of things are possible. But the following 5 are not just possible, but quite doable.
1. Fixing Democracy. These are the pre-fixing months. Prepping starts this fall, with your help. Then building, then launching. You can help by adding your email to my list! Plus, like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter.
2. Passing the E.R.A., anti-corruption legislation, the 4 gun-control measures that most Americans want, and much more. These will be straightforward once we launch the fix for democracy. More than that, they’ll be inevitable.
3. Ending Racism. If you look at the right spot on the web, you can learn how we can do it. Too bad our political leaders aren’t interested.
4. Ending the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. If you think this can’t be done, you’re bogged down by your own pessimism. The Oslo Accords got close, using just a single strategy. Three others are available. The combination will make peace unavoidable.
5. Reversing climate change: This is very, very possible. But we’ve wasted a lot of time. It’s not clear what percentage of plants, animals and even humans we can save. For a while we’ve had the technology to stop, and reverse, climate change, we just didn’t have the political will. Fixing democracy will allow us to muster the will.
These aren’t just ideas
The above are just the things that I know we can do. The first I’ve mapped out in detail- it’s an actual plan. #2 will follow. #3 I know how to do, but won’t have time for a while. Biden could start it. BLM and others could make it happen. But I haven’t been able to reach either. Others could make it happen, too. #4 I have solid ideas for, but people would have to listen. #5 is being worked on by many. Too bad they didn’t think to fix politics, first, and their leaders are also unreachable.
If you can reach any of the people above, please have them call me. If not, at least add your email address to my list. It’ll be a slower process, but we’ll get there (unless stopped by climate catastrophe…)
Note though, that none of these is certain. And none are going to happen if too many people stay small. Plus, these are possible today, but the opportunities may pass. The question is: Who are you going to be in these efforts?
Wait – if things are possible, then I have to stop my pontificating, complaining, posing, and actually get to work!
Hmm… I’ll think about it.
Thanks for adding yourself to the mailing list!
